Dr. Chrystal G. Tibbs Humanitarian Youth Award
The Dr. Chrystal G. Tibbs Humanitarian Youth Award is in honor of Dr. Chrystal G. Tibbs, board member of the United Nations Association of Greater Detroit, lifelong member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., educator, activist, and humanitarian. Dr. Tibbs strongly supported the principles and work of the United Nations, and she devoted her career and personal time to empowering and mentoring young people. Dr. Tibbs passed away in 2018. She was 86 years old.
The Robert Edward Lang Scholarship
The Robert Edward Lang Scholarship Fund is sponsored by the Greater Detroit Chapter of the United Nations Association (GDUNA). The fund awards $3,000 scholarships to high school seniors in Metropolitan Detroit pursuing a degree related to international studies at an accredited college or university.
